It’s unbelievable, it’s unfamiliar, it’s NYBG like never before! Head down the rabbit hole as Wonderland: Curious Nature transforms the Garden through the sights, settings, and scents of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland—and step into a botanical experience that grows curiouser and curiouser along the way. You’ll choose your own adventure as you fall deeper into our otherworldly gardens, mind-bending contemporary artworks, and gallery exhibitions filled with wonderfully weird marvels, and see the Garden through Alice’s playful and curious eyes.
Join us for fantastical tea parties, immerse yourself in thousands of colorful Victorian flowers, meet some of Wonderland’s fanciful and familiar characters, and go a little mad with us in this world of wild imagination!
Spanning spring, summer, and fall of 2024, this major exhibition celebrates a tale treasured the world over. It’s sure to tease your senses, and you’re invited to be part of the story. Won’t you join us for tea?

Wonderland Nights

Enter Wonderland at dusk—a madly beautiful world! Join us to experience Wonderland: Curious Nature in a new light with a full cast of characters on the scene and specialty themed cocktails that make for the perfect evening out. And in a spectacular show of rhythm and delight, Thistle Dance invites you to let loose during the Mad Hatter’s dance party.

From our opening weekend celebration among the fanciful flowers of spring, to lawn games, tea parties, live music performances, and a world of costumed characters—Wonderland is full of fun to discover throughout spring, summer, and fall.
Go Mad Over Imaginative Dining
The sensory adventure of Wonderland: Curious Nature continues with culinary magic from NYBG’s dining venues. Linger over an imaginative meal or afternoon tea at the Hudson Garden Grill, grab a quick bite at the Pine Tree Café, and discover whimsical pop-ups sprinkled throughout the Botanical Garden landscape. Whether it’s a hearty meal, a sweet “unbirthday” treat, a savory nibble, or an inventive handcrafted cocktail, you’ll find something delightfully mad to whet your appetite.
Partnership with Tea Around Town
NYBG is partnering with Tea Around Town during Wonderland: Curious Nature to enjoy a tea experience while traveling down the rabbit hole from Manhattan to the wonderful world of Wonderland! Embark on your journey at Central Park and enjoy exotic teas, delicious treats, and fun with the Mad Hatter!
